Save Some Christmas Time And Money

In the category of Properties Online

by J Gardener

You may be getting your Christmas shopping done early, this year. Bargains are everywhere, so you might even be able to squeeze another gift or two into the budget you made for the season. But before you do, remember that item you always seem to leave off your list until the last minute, no matter how early you shop. That ever-costlier wrapping paper.

It's always frustrating, when we forget to buy the wrapping paper, along with our gifts. The outside cover to the presents Santa leaves under the tree is such an integral part of Christmas, the first thing we notice when we see the tree, standing over our gifts on Christmas morning.

Even so, the gift-wrapping is so quickly discarded, especially by children. They may be momentarily delighted by the colors and designs of the wrapping, but their desire to get at the gifts that Santa left them is overwhelming, and the wrapping is their victim, as they tear it to pieces.

When the excitement and the frenzy of opening the beautifully wrapped gifts is finally over, what's left is usually a mountain of a mess. And Mom and Dad are usually left to clean it up and put it into the trash can, where it will be taken, along with mountains of the neighbors' wrapping paper, to be dumped back into the ground, somewhere.

As well, the price of wrapping paper is constantly rising. How many of us actually figure that cost into our Christmas budgets, as we begin shopping, each holiday season? It adds up, quickly, and we find ourselves surprised, each year, when we realize by how much we exceeded our planned spending.

It doesn't have to be that way. Why spend so much money and time on gift-wrapping, when the wrapping is turned to trash so quickly? Maybe every single gift doesn't need to be wrapped.

Your children would certainly understand, if not all of their gifts got wrapped. You could tell them that Santa Claus doesn't have the time to wrap every gift for every child in the world, or the space on his sleigh to carry presents, if they're all wrapped. Besides, if he can see each toy, clearly, then he knows right where it goes, and he can cut down on mis-deliveries, right?

Your children really won't mind if the gifts that Santa brings them on Christmas Eve don't get wrapped. They see the paper as an obstacle, anyway, to reaching their Christmas treasures. And you'll save so much time and money, not having to wrap every single gift.

You can save time and money that way, and maybe a forest, somewhere. That sure wouldn't upset Santa Claus, would it?
